This is it, we are in 2015, the end of the year festivities has gone past and we are now facing the changes of the NSW Combat Sports Authority all along.
Useful information posted today by one of our good friends, Andrew PTJ Muay Thai Gym at the NSW Muay Thai and Kick Boxing Calendar facebook page.
“Just off the phone to Combat Sports and some information I hope helps people trying to figure it all out.
–PRO Trainers MUST be registered and have a current First Aid Cert now (CPR not enough) $100 rego 3 years
–PRO Seconds (anyone who helps in the corner) MUST be registered and have a current CPR now $100 rego 3 years.
For amateurs at the moment there is a current “transition period”, but what will be required is this:
–AM Trainers Must be registered and have a current First Aid Cert now (CPR not enough) $100 rego 3 years
–AM Seconds (anyone who helps in the corner) do not register as currently in transition period.
*I DO NOT REPRESENT THE CSA, so if you want clarification call them yourself 8754 7926 (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm)”
In the foresee future, we are hoping that the rules and regulations stipulated by the NSW Combat Sports Authority (in which, by the way, carried no form of industry consultation) brings us a safer and more organized environment to our sport.
As hard as it seems to believe, we have to stay strong, and do our best to continue to grow Muay Thai all over the world.
