Boxing gloves are like shoes. If you look after them, they will remain as they are brand new for a long time. It doesn’t take too long for your gloves to become a nightmare tough, if you don’t give them the attention and care they will demand.
If you have been training for a while, then you are probably in your second or third pair of gloves and if we had to guess, we would say that the replacement was caused due to you having enough of your smelly gloves. Is it correct?
Repeating the same mistakes with your new gloves will only lead you to another smelly/tragic experience and you will ended up buying another pair for the same reason. Do you know how to prevent it? Please see below some tips to keep your gloves in good shape for a long time.
- Let them dry completely – Germs need moisture to survive so hang your gloves in a sunny area after training.
- Wipe your gloves with paper towel
- Do not keep your gloves inside your bag after training
- Use Hand Wraps – Hand wraps are still one of the most effective ways to preventing your gloves to get moist. The wraps act as a sponge absorbing all the moisture from the foam inside your gloves.
- Use anti-bacterial spray to kill germs
Please keep in mind that these steps above should be followed into every session. Who’s keen on keeping their gloves “fresh”? It’s the perfect time for it.
