Another pretty good weekend of fights out in the western part of Sydney. At the St Mary’s Band Club once again, the Full Force Show was packed and had some great action.
From the SRG Thai Boxing Gym Corner we had 3 fighters, plus a very good friend of ours, that now has his own gym in Adelaide.
First in action was Matthew SRG Donkin facing one of the promoter’s fighter. Matt’s opponent came out hard and with some hard shots at the very beginning got the best of him. The fight was called off by the Ref on the first round.
Then we had Jessica SRG Neville representing us. With great technique and an awesome gas, we really thought Jess won the fight. Unfortunately the judges gave it a draw and we kind of felt it. Was Jess’s fight and not by close, but by miles. We believe she won every round but she also took some hits in the second. In the end of the day it’s the fight game and things not always go our way.
After that we had Tomasz SRG Sznar fighting in the 10th bout of the evening. Tomasz did really well and outscored his opponent in every round. Luckily the judges saw the same fight as we did and gave him the well deserved UPD. He showed everyone that he is on the right path on becoming a pro Muay Thai fighter in Australia. We can’t wait to have him in action again.
Then we helped a good friend of ours in his fight. Dimitri Taipan Iliev was fighting Franz Dirty Sanchez with only 3 days notice and was in need of some help as his trainer couldn’t be on his corner. The fight finished early in the second with Franz coming out with the win at his Muay Thai retirement fight. He is now moving along to fight in MMA.
The last one in action on the day was our dear friend Jordan Fielding from Strong Heart Muay Thai in Adelaide. Jordan fought against Sam McDowell and what a fight they threw. Both gave their all and had the crowd on their feet for most of the bout. We, at our 5th fight in the corner, had lost our voices and were going crazy. Jordan came out short with Sam being the stronger Nak Muay for the night. Jordan has 2 more fights this year booked already, at the next Knees Of Fury in Adelaide and at Max Muay Thai in December. Can’t wait to see how he goes. We hope you all had a great weekend as well and are ready for another week of hard training at SRG.
See you soon in the gym, Soot Raaeng Geert!
