This weekend just passed we had 3 SRG Boxers representing us. There was meant to be 4 but 1 unfortunately had the fight cancelled the day before.
First, on Friday night, we had Dillon SRG Gauci fighting at Kings of Kombat in Melbourne, against Simon Leafa at 67kg and on a 3×3 K1 rules bout.
Dillon’s last fight was 3-4 years ago and he was returning to the ring expecting to get the rust out and to find his rhythm on the canvas. Simon came out strong and set the tone of the bout dropping Dillon on the first and again on the second. No major injuries for him that will be back stronger than ever to the ring. A set back like this makes us feel that Dillon will come back hungrier and fitter, ready to take back on the scene like no other.
On Saturday we had another Muaythai Australia NSW Development Day, this time at SAAM Muay Thai Gym in Campbelltown.
There we had Stellios SRG Hountalas and Sean SRG Lightfoot representing us and they both did us proud. Stellious had a strong opponent that came out and displayed some really sharp techniques taking the fight away from him in great fashion.
Sean himself came out really strong, controlled the ring from the first minute and took the only WIN to our corner between the 2 events. Even though this was our only victory, we are still pretty happy with our performances and also with the events we were in.
Thanks a lot for the promoters of Kings of Kombat for having us, we can’t wait top be back. Also a special thanks for the guys at SAAM Muay Thai and for all the MTA crew that came out and made another massive event. From days that we didn’t know how the Developments days were going to be, to now where we are having 20+ bouts in 1 afternoon, shows to us that we are on the right track and that everyone is enjoying these events.
We hope you all have a great weekend and that you are ready to another week of hard training here at SRG Thai Boxing Gym.
