Is that time again, the week leading to the fight, where our boxers are training harder than ever and on top of that, reducing their fluid intake as well as making sure to eat just the necessary to keep their bodies alive.
We can say that this is the worst part of the whole process, not even the hard training days, the though sparring sessions, but the lack of food and water in our system when you need it the most.
Watching the boys at SRG Thai Boxing, give their absolute maximum at training, and find out that they are only going to have some rice and broccoli with a glass of water after training is almost depressing. But I guess that is exactly what it takes to be a fighter, or even worst, when you realize that the last 24hrs they usually don’t get a drop of water through their mouths, that’s right, not even a single drop of water.
It all compensates after the weight in, when as soon as they get out of the scales, they start to re-fill. Fluids and food pouring from everywhere, also making sure not to have too much after the starvation process.
The is all happiness, they have been through hell and back, and now is their enjoyment time. Fight night is where is all at and only the ones brave enough to step up in the ring will one day experience the feeling. If you are even interested in having a go, make sure to let us know, that way we can lay the path in front of you, and you can decide for yourself, if it’s worth it or not.
Come and support our Boxers this weekend, Friday night at Kings of Kombat in Melbourne and Sunday at the Siam2Canberra at the Capital.
