What a weekend we had. The past couple of days have been great at SRG Thai Boxing Gym and we have gained lots of experience.
Last Friday, the 29th of April we have Maksud SRG Jamilov fighting out of JNI’s show in Hurstville. He did well, went through the 3 rounds with a lot of heat, even with his leg injured from his previous fight, he gave his opponent the lot and lots by SPD. Props to his opponent Hugh from Double Dragon Gym, that came out strong and deserved the Win. Great effort by both fighters.
Saturday the 30th was our busiest day. We had Chloe SRG Cheng, Maria SRG Pisckunov and Pamela SRG Ablang fighting in that order as the 2nd, 4th and 6th fight on the Annihilation 10 event promoted by Reinhardt Badato. Chloe fought really well, as tough as they come she had a super fit and athletic opponent, that added to her great skills gave Chloe a hard day in the office. In a true SRG Style, Chloe displayed amazing technique and heart, loosing on points to Bec Bateman from PTJ Muay Thai Gym. Chloe rang us this morning to say that she is hungrier than ever to get back in the ring and pulled out from the fight injury free, which makes her another asset to the Yokkao Next Generation Sydney Show.
Maria also did us really proud, going at it and kicking in a way we have never seen it before in the gym. God she got some strong kicks on her. Unfortunately she lost her contact lens, and after the second one fell out, the ref stopped the fight. We will wok on an alternative for this issue and hope to get her back in the ring in no time.
Pamela had the night of her life, and we couldn’t be happier. She went all out and brought the victory to the SRG corner after giving her opponent an 8 count on the 3rd round. Pam came out with strong knees and her opponent couldn’t keep it up. Pamela was declared the winner by UPD and also won the FIGHTER OF THE NIGHT on her very first fight. Wish you were all there to see in her eyes how happy she was. It was an unbelievable moment.
On Sunday the 1st we went down to Canberra, with Louis SRG Fox and Aadam SRG Kumar.
Louis went out as the first fight of the day, and man he went for it. Displaying great technique and doing what we had worked on, Louis gave it all to his opponent, that also did well by trying to close the distance and initiating his actions at the clinch. The fight was declared a draw, but we couldn’t be more proud of someone as we are of Louis. He represented us in a true SRG Style and all he wants is to have another fight.
Then to close the weekend, we got shown what courage is. Aadam step in for his older brother, Anwar SRG Kumar, that is injured at the moment. Aadam went out there smaller and lighter and I have to admit, this boy has some amazing skills. Kept the distance in a great manner and did everything in his power to get that Win. Aadam is a true warrior and we are sure to have a lot of great moments cornering him and his brother Anwar in the future.
A BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE SRG LOCOS THAT FOLLOWED US ALL OVER THE PLACE OVER THE WEEKEND AS WELL, CHEERING AND SUPPORTING US LIKE NO ONE ELSE!! THANK YOU
See you soon at training. SOOT RAAENG GEERT!
