YES WE DID IT!!!! LUIS SOOT RAAENG GEERT IS THE AUSTRALIAN JUNIOR MIDDLE WEIGHT WMC CHAMPION!!!!
In a night stacked with amazing fights, Rebellion Muay Thai brought to the Malvern Town Hall, in Melbourne, a superb display of Muay Thai for the likes of all.
The 8 Man Eliminator had the toughest guys at the Middle Weight division of the country and granted Alex Illijoski the Rebellion Muay Thai 72.5kg Eliminator Champion.
We had 2 boxers representing SRG Thai Boxing in that night. Our head coach Luis Regis and one of our best Patrick Ribeiro.
Patrick was the fight number 9 of the stacked card and unfortunately got caught early on the second round with a beautiful left hook that left Pat unstable forcing Elias Dolaptsis (the best Muay Thai referee of Australia in our opinion) without a choice than to stop the fight and give the W to Chris Nguyen.
Luis vs 300 was the main event of the evening (Super Fight) as fight number 14 and to close Rebellion Muay Thai IX.
Both fighters went really well and were hungry from the start. Luis was facing the first southpaw of his career and had to move a lot to keep Mike away and implement his game. It worked and it worked just perfectly.
Luis brought the house down with his spinning heel kicks, and even managed to open a little cut above the eye of 300. Mike came strong back on the 5th round trying to get the points back and turn the fight his way but it was too late and the Brazilian born SRG Thai Boxing Gym owner took it home to so awaited title.
Sydney now has the WMC Australian Junior Middle Weight Champion, and we are sure, that this is a step closer from his so dreamed title shot, the WMC World Title Belt.
Once again a big Than You to Sy Nadji for promoting such an amazing event and keep the roots of Muay Thai alive in Australia.
