Another great weekend for SRG Thai Boxing Gym, this time up in Orange/NSW.
Was a cold fall weekend, with temperatures going as low as 7 degrees, the country side of NSW was as lovely as the fights were.
From SRG Thai Boxing Gym we had our head coach Luis Soot Raaeng Geert and one of our instructors Diesellek Soot Raaeng Geert representing our family.
First we had Diesy facing the local fighter Charlie Bubb for a chance to challenge the 74kg World Title Belt at World Fight Organisation’s event.
Diesellek represented us really well, fought very smart, with his authentic Thai Style and strong kicks. We seriously thought he done enough, but in the judges eyes was another story. Charlie is a very tough and well rounded fighter, fought all the way and landed a couple of strong elbows. He mostly boxed during the fight and looked for the clinch in a few opportunities. He wasn’t as strong as Diesy on the clinch and end up thrown around quite often. Charlie even end up flying over the ropes even in 2 occasions, in which (the second time) made Diesellek get 1 point deducted from his score card. We simply couldn’t understand why, and by the surprise of all, Charlie’s corner was actually requesting the point deduction. If the ring wasn’t supporting the size and strength of the combatants, it’s not for any of them to be penalised for, and being the smaller (much smaller) fighter, Diesy end up on the clinch position many time. Anyhow, the fight is finished now and Diesellek lost. That’s what’s going to be remembered by the score cards.
Luis had a really tough fight against Sebmueng. Jesus he was strong. They threw a very authentic Thai Style Fight, giving all the spectators the feeling of being in Thai Stadium. Luis took the best of Sebmueng, checking most of his kicks and coming back very strong, he had his hand raised in the end. Sebmueng was allowing Luis’s kicks to penetrate looking for a faster response, in which didn’t work most of the times.
Was a great show all around, with awesome match ups in a cool and welcoming town. We look forward to the next one and we would like to say a special thanks to Philip Bennett from Angel Gym, the World Fight Organisation, Kevin and his daughter from Anvil Muay Thai Gym (a true gentleman) and to all the SRG Supporters that came all the way from Sydney. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
